Wrapped Up: 3 Ways to Wear a Pareo

September 05, 2012 Evergreen Enterprises 0 Comments

Our latest Cypress Home catalog includes a selection of fun and functional new tote bag designs. The bags themselves are bright colored, durable, and ready to take to the beach or the pool. They also include a color-coordinating pareo cover-up. (The word “pareo” comes from Tahiti and refers to a wraparound skirt commonly worn by people of the South Pacific islands. They are usually brightly colored with patterns.)

The pareo included with each bag is made of lightweight, sheer polyester and is printed with patterns in 4 summery colors (pink, blue, purple, and orange, as shown below). The color scheme of each pareo matches the upper color on the corresponding bag.

Each pareo measures 46” x 60”—large enough to be worn in a variety of ways. Here are 3 suggested ways how you might tie and wear a pareo:

Neck
1.  Around the neck as a full-body cover-up. Wrap from behind, gather two corners of the pareo, twist, then tie together behind the neck.

Chest
2.  Around the chest as a full-body cover-up. Wrap around, then tie the ends of pareo to secure.

Waist
3.  Around the waist as a skirt. Fold in half, wrap around, then tie the ends of pareo to secure.
