Your Summer with Cypress: Special Occasions, Wine Stoppers and Napkins

March 16, 2010 Evergreen Enterprises, Inc. 0 Comments

They're finally here! So many of our retailers have asked us for wedding giftables. Not only are we introducing this product line, but we've extended the concept for anniversaries, too! Weddings, 50th and 25th anniversaries are now covered in our special occasion collections. We're also thrilled to show you are new packaging in this line, which creates an even better giftable for your customers.

The Bride and Groom photo frame set is just darling and is introduced at a great price point for the set of two.  They stand 3.5”W x 5”H for the bride and 2.5”W x 6”H for the groom with each holding 2” x 3” photo. They’re in classic black and white, formal with the bride dressed up in wedding gown and the groom sporting a sweet little tuxedo. Other photo frame choices include those with champagne glasses and rhinestone hearts, all gift-boxed and with different sizes.  Simply reminiscent of days in love, and perfect for wedding and every anniversary gifts.

Another highlight in the collection is the High Heel Shoe Cake Server. We’ve added rhinestones in the heel to make it look very sassy and yet still more functional. The heel is magnetic so that it could be easily taken off when you wash it.  We've also introduced the rhinestone beading to our champagne flutes where the rhinestones actually float for a stunning look and creating inspiration from branded crystal products. It looks elegantly expensive, but we offer a value price for a set of two.

The Winestopper shaped like a diamond ring is really a cool piece, perfect for engagement or bachelorette parties and gifts. And don’t miss out on the Bride and Groom Fluted Champagne Glasses which are hand-painted with rhinestones attached. You’ll be amazed when you see and feel the real product. They go very well with the photo frame series and floating rhinestone spreader set.

Floating rhinestone servers, although a carryover, did really well for our retailers in 2009. They’re gift-boxed and among the basic items for serving salads and dishes. Another cute gift is the photo frame in the shape of a car with the line “Just Married”, which comes at 4.5”H x 5.25”H and holds a 3” x 3” photo.

Mango Moon wine stoppers, without a doubt, are among our best sellers. Each wine stopper is handmade of glass with a metal base and silicone ring to seal in freshness. There are seven colors (pink, clear, turquoise, amber, red, green, amethyst) and three shapes (doorknob, drop, ellipse) to choose from. When our retailers purchase from the series, we also provide a countertop wine stopper display with a chrome finish that holds 18 stoppers (sold separately). Of course if you order one of the three programs (“Door Knob Wine Stopper Program”, “Drop Wine Stopper Program” and “Ellipse Wine Stopper Program”), you’ll receive 2 countertop wine stopper displays. Nice buy indeed.

We offer more displays and fixtures for your consideration. You’ll have the wine stopper easel display as usual. The acrylic wine stopper display with a capacity of 8 is our new introduction. It has a little rubber edge inserted in which makes product resting a little easier. It looks more interesting than the older version and holds 12 stoppers.

This time we expanded the “Milestone Birthdays” collection. Based on the stems that are doing well, we’ve added handpainted glass platters, tidbit plates and wine glasses with humorous lines such as “30 is the new 20”. They were warmly received at the Atlanta show earlier this year. Items for your 40th and 50th birthdays are added as well and we offer coordinating napkins and mini collections that you can easily merchandise in your store. In your 40th birthday gift set, for example, you’ll get 1 handpainted wine glass, 1 wine stopper and 1 pack of cocktail napkins. Great for those milestone party celebrations and they are super giftable.

Handpainted wine stems are perfect for any spirited get-together. You can find matching cocktail napkins for these under any collection. We’ve also added some napkins with a summer look, such as “Coastal and Tropical”, “Floral and Botanical” and we've even expanded our "Everyday" series. Each series comes with different size choices  such as luncheon, cocktail, guest towel and sneezies. Pick what’s new and trendy in our broad selection and easily merchandise with our new fixtures and displays!

Your Summer with Cypress: Whimsical and Monogram

March 15, 2010 Evergreen Enterprises, Inc. 0 Comments

Jester” is a unique group in the Summer Supplement that’s quite different from what Cypress has done in the past. It’s whimsical, fun and giftable -- a great seller for your gift shops.

The jester idea is borrowed from the circus, a person employed to tell jokes and provide general entertainment, typically by a European monarch. Jesters are stereotypically thought to have worn brightly colored clothes and eccentric hats in a motley pattern. Their hats were especially distinctive: made of cloth, floppy with three points, each of which had a jingle bell at the end. Other things distinctive about the jester were his laughter and his mock sceptre, known as a bauble or marotte.

With these elements combined, the “Jester” collection features all hand-painted ceramics, made with high quality and wrapped in special, giftable packaging. The handpainted ceramic cookie jars and martini glasses are brightly colored, fun-loving, and perfect for both use and home decor. Simply entertaining. There are also two wild, handpainted tea pots, the shapes of which look just like jesters, with a cool handle on the top. The handpainted ceramic hexagon container is perfect for storing cookies, snacks, and other kitchen goodies. This short and sweet group adds lots of fun to your summer entertainment and will definitely attract lots of attention in your store.

One of our best-selling EcoGlass products is the alabaster scallop bowl series, which we've carried in the past. These go well with the “Jester” collection or other series.

We’ve also introduced new programs for the always hot Monogram line, our Number 1 collection that everybody loves.

As you might expect, we’ll be expanding our line with embroidered monogram fabric iron-on's in a set of 2 patches. You can apply them to anything, from purses to shirts to bags. Take our insulated fabric lunch tote and personalize it with our iron-on monogram patches to show off a personalized statement. The monogram comes with 16 bestselling letters and helps you to keep your inventory as low as possible.

The Latte Travel Mug is back as well, our Number 1 selling mug. It comes packaged in our nice boxing and again with the 16 most popular monogram letters. In addition, we have the set of 4 ceramic mugs with the metal rack which are dishwasher (top rack) and microwave safe.

The Monogram Koozie Pink Zebra is a new sku for us, which includes a pegable card insert and fits on soft drink cans and bottles. You can peg it on a store for display.

Handpainted monogram wine glasses and insulated monogram acrylic cups with straws and twist-off lids come in fun, bright patterns. They are pre-packaged in gift-boxes. For care, hand wash only. I’m sure they’ll be additional store winners for you.

Expanding our Summer Gift Sets, we've introduced a Monogram Artisan glass and spreader gift set, and a Monogram wood cutting board, cocktail napkin & spreader zebra gift set. On the top left of the cutting board appears your monogram, looking like a wood-burnt carving, which adds to the uniqueness of these gift sets. We're pleased to offer them at a great selling price point to you, as well.

The monogram glass plate is a new 11” Round x .5”H, with the monogram etched at the center. A great upsell to this is our set of 4 monogram glass plates matching nicely with the 11" glass, all fully gift-boxed.

The new monogram glass wine bottle holder comes at a low phenomenal price, compared to similar ones on the market. The design is so unique and stylish  hat the bottle appears to float when you insert the wine bottle in the holder. Super giftable!

I’m also excited about our new expansions in Monogram Glass Winestoppers. The competition may be offering something similar , but you can clearly see the difference in our quality and design. Our new winestoppers are even thicker and gift-boxed, and continue to be one of our customers' top sellers.

Our new acrylic monogram is break resistant for indoor and outdoor entertainment. This introduction includes monogram acrylic beer mugs, acrylic goblets for all purposes, and acrylic hiball tumblers. We're excited to provide this new line of highly demanded acrylic elegance to our retailers.

As you all know, the wine bottle stopper is always one of Cypress Home's Top Sellers. This time we've given it a new look with a wine charm, an idea borrowed from our jewelry brand, Personal Best. This also gives you a masculine look and they are fully gift-boxed. The rhinestone monogram wine stoppers are best selling carryover items. Clear glass topped with jewel-embellished letters and nickel-plated brass stopper with rubber rings. Packaged in beautiful giftable boxes.

Our unique new LED candles provide the look of a real wax candles with a realistic glowing effect. A vanilla-scented real wax shell envelops these battery-operated candles. Each contains 2 LEDs: one in the faux flame tip and another inside the body of the candle. Simply touch the bottom switch to light and choose between constant glow and life-like flicker pattern. The amazing “blow out” function lets you extinguish just like a real candle! But unlike real candles, these produce no smoke and are safe to use anywhere.

Your Summer with Cypress: Freshness in Eternal Classics

March 15, 2010 Evergreen Enterprises, Inc. 0 Comments

As I wrote in the last blog, the new Cypress Summer book is a good combination of top-selling carryovers and new items. Let’s take a look at the products that will be the greatest buys for your summer business.

The “Simple Swimmers” collection was featured in our last September catalog, featuring lovely coastal touches with cooling blues and greens. An exciting new item introduced this time is the insulated acrylic cup with a straw and twist off lid, 4”L x 4”W x 6.25”H. Does this cool product line remind you of a coffee shop mug that could be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors? Other new items include our EcoBamboo 2 section servers, large serving trays, ceramic crocks and sets of 4 glass spreaders. These spreaders are made of a delicate glass handle with the signature swimmer pattern, very decorative and fun. To freshen up, we also introduce dthe glass soap dispenser and 5-piece bath set which includes a soap dispenser, covered jar, Q-tip holder, toothbrush holder and soap dish, all home essentials for summer time.

You’ve met our “Paradise Island” collection before, which has been a very good seller for our retailers. Our gourmet bottles are great for soap, oil and much more! The new ones include both a standard pourer and coordinating sculpted stopper. We’ve added the ceramic crock and glass soap dispenser themed “Palm Island”, which is 6.75”H x 5.5”D and 3.5”W x 8.25”H respectively. Also don’t forget to mix and match the colors of our solid EcoBamboo for a stylish, Eco-friendly statement.

The “Frosted Polka Dot” collection features mainly glassware. You can mix and match these items with our new bright-colored collections such as “Pop Goes the Daisy” and “Simple Swimmers”. Again the insulated acrylic cup with straw and twist off lid appears here to add fun to your drinking experience. I’m also excited to tell you that we’ll introduce “Polka Dot” in acrylic for Cypress Spring/Summer 2011.

In the “Tropicalia” collection, a couple of new items are introduced. The 16oz. gourmet bottle is 13.5”H and includes a pourer with flip lid & resin stopper. Complementing this bottle is our collection of ceramic crocks and trivets, which sell in an assortment of two with kiwi and watermelon patterns, ceramic tiled trays with wooden frames, which are very easy to hang.

The “Hot Hot Hot” Collection is still hot for both indoor and outdoor entertainment. We’ve added new items like the square small tray, ceramic tiled wooden trays with contoured bases, as well as the EcoBamboo series like our square bowls, Chip ‘N Dips, and salad and dinner plates. Just let the hot waves roll in this summer!

Madison’s Garden” has always been our number one collection seller for retailers since it hit the show floor. Out of the genius design of Kate McRostie, these florals are definitely a staple of home decoration with a warm and artistic touch, reminiscent of everyday and seasonal greetings. Our clear acrylic coaster holds a cocktail napkin for an effect that’s both decorative and protective to your table. Each of our embossed handpainted ceramic bowls features a different embossed flower in the center. They are dishwasher safe (top rack) and microwave safe. New items include glass soap dispensers, ceramic tissue box covers, fabric embroidered napkins and many more, all absolutely beautiful. Also featured in our new introduction are ceramic butter dishes, EcoBamboo Chip ‘N Dip,s and sets of 4 stackable ceramic mugs.

Another collection falling into our top 3 is “Aero Postale,” warmly welcomed at our Atlanta show. This collection includes a set of four ceramic mugs with a metal rack which features a coffee look, good items indeed. Other highlights are eco-bamboo 3 section servers, glass soap dispensers with vintage fruit and yellow birds, as well the EcoBamboo salad and dinner plates.

Many new additions to add color, flair, and sensibility to your customers' homes this summer.

Your Summer with Cypress: Sounds of the Sea

March 15, 2010 Evergreen Enterprises, Inc. 0 Comments

Summer is just around the corner. Are you ready to market your barbecue, beach, cruise, or picnic product lines to your customers? If you’re planning for a combination of classic favorites and trendy new styles, Cypress Home Summer is your perfect shopping destination. With more than 50% items newly-introduced, we won’t keep you waiting until August to see cutting edge trends. Our Cypress Home Summer Supplemental Catalog serves as a great filler to satisfy your needs of classic favorites and exciting new ones.

The biggest change I’ve seen in American home trends in the past few years is the move to more functional, not just decorative. In this economic situation, people want their home to look good yet still be functional with right-on-priced goods.

We’re really excited about the new Cypress Home summer program “Sounds of the Sea." This line introduces fabulous new summer styles, as well as new product lines of metal hand platters and servers. They are the perfect combination of summer style with functionality you'll love.
All metal wine stoppers in this collection are even a little more up-scale than we did in the past. They consist of two assorted pieces with the trendy sand dollar and seahorse patterns, and they're in the perfect sized and packaged gift box, as well.

I really love the acrylic items here which are all break resistant. The beverage dispenser with spout and blue lid is 10.5”L x 7”W x 13”H, holding 3.5 qt and electroplated metal coated. The hiball tumbler, pitcher and dof are all made with blue ridges. The 3-piece Chip ‘N Dip have two dip bowls this time, in case one accidentally have one fall.

We have mixed and matched our hot-selling EcoBamboo items in this collection to remind you of these vibrant and versatile solid colors. We source the best bamboo as raw materiel and mix the material with melamine to make the final, high quality eco-friendly product. EcoBamboo products come in both solid and print, and have passed all food safety tests. I introduced this series when I came on board two years ago and Eco-consciousness is here to stay.

Among our wine-related items, the wine bottle jewelry is beautifully done, with high quality and perfect for gifting, making these pieces the perfect fit for wine stores and small specialty stores. The blue-colored gourmet bottle is a three-piece set, including 2 assorted stoppers with sand dollars and starfish patterns as well as a pourer with flip lid. We also put together a combination of a ceramic cocktail and luncheon napkin holder with a resin weight and one pack of napkins.

You've most likely seen our glass servers in the past, but this time we sourced them in acrylic, again break-resistant. You may shape the 4-piece server into whatever format you want since all sections are divided out. These acrylic servers are a basic staple of summertime entertaining for both indoors and outdoors.

Add NCAA Collegiate to your retail success

March 05, 2010 Evergreen Enterprises, Inc. 0 Comments

NCAA Collegiate was started in 2000 as a natural extension of Evergreen flag business to meet those niche needs of customers and end consumers. It was limited to flag products back then and we offered only appliqué and certain sizes. Over the years as we branched into other product categories, we pulled flags, garden and other gift products together to build our collegiate business.

There’re lots of complicated processes involved in collegiate business beyond normal production cycle, one of which is licensing. First we come up with the idea or the concept, which we send to the licensing division of the school to get the categories approved, either through big agencies like COC and AIC, or schools themselves. Following that we have to get distribution channel approval to sell into that. The specifics of collegiate licensing are very strenuous. For example, the color has to be exact and there’s no leeway. Images, logos and all other information have to be dealt with very carefully. Sometimes when you start the license with the concepts and product done, even starting sampling, the school would deny it at the last minute. Sometimes when a new category is added, it would take longer than expected to get through all processes.

Trade shows: Experience our new products

March 05, 2010 Evergreen Enterprises, Inc. 0 Comments

Trade Shows are an integral part of our sales efforts since most new customers are exposed to our products for the first time at these events and existing customers are coming to see what’s new and trendy. This year’s traffic has improved in Atlanta, Dallas and Las Vegas compared with the same shows last year, which was at the height of concern in the industry. Attitudes among retailers are improving, as well. Generally speaking, most attendees have had a good fourth quarter and many businesses are starting to re-stock the shelves and are preparing their orders for Christmas 2010.

To better plan the shows and make our retailers’ visit worthwhile, we always ensure we provide new, proper samples and just the right amount. One of the characteristics of this industry is that it’s very tactile and customers like to see, hold and feel the products in person. Since trends are always changing, we completely revamp each of our show rooms twice a year. We work with so many different vendors at such a fast pace that it’s often a challenge to ship samples in time for proper preparation before show time. Our team works quickly and puts in a great deal of overtime ensuring that we can make the show absolutely a great experience for our retailers to attend.

Who's your flag's Mary?

March 02, 2010 Evergreen Enterprises, Inc. 0 Comments

Let me first tell you the story about Mary.

Mary, approximately 55 years of age, has a college degree, two children, and many daily responsibilities.  When she was finishing up her degree, computers were just entering her college campus. Mary found herself having to do her term papers, projects, tests and resume on a computer.  If she was not computer literate enough, she would not be able to excel (no pun intended). Now Mary has a successful career, a blackberry, a facebook and gmail account, and sends text messages at a somewhat remarkable speed.  She is not afraid to sit down at her computer the day after Thanksgiving and make her Christmas purchases online (having them pre-wrapped and drop shipped right to her door).  After all, she is a busy woman. Raising a family and contributing to the financial needs of her family is top on her list of priorities.

So what can you take away from this story about Mary?  My answer is: The importance of Internet Sales and Marketing going into the future!
